Fernandina Beach, Amelia Island, Florida

Carmen and I spend a weekend at Fernandina Beach on Amelia Island, Florida.  The weather the first day was great, 84 degrees and mostly sunny.

After getting to the hotel, we walked along the beach, taking pictures of the shells.
The hotel from the beach.  We ate lunch at the beach bar on the beach, nice.

Later we went up to the roof of the hotel and took a picture of the beach (looking South) and a bird that stayed long enough for me to take a couple of pictures.

Later that evening we went to downtown Fernandina Beach and ate dinner and took several pictures of the area.  Nearly sunset, the sun behind the clouds caused sun bursts.
Some old styled advertising painted on the side of a brick building.
And of course a picture of resting Pelicans.

Overnight however, a cold front came through the area and got cold, temps down in the low to mid 50's with a 20 mph wind and a little overcast.

We drove around the Island, stopping at Fort Clinch and the Fishing Pier.

The drive through the park on the way to the Fort (and other locations on the Island) there are many oak trees covered with the Southern Moss that overhang the road - really pretty.

Before leaving Amelia Island, there were a number of birds on the beach.  The day was sunny and I thought they looked interesting.  Something made them take flight, only not in my direction, before landing back where the originally were.
